Surprising Weightlessness

Yesterday’s meditation: surprising weightlessness.

I had an experience recently that gave me a good chuckle. I came up to a crosswalk with only 5 seconds left to get across a fairly large street. Not wanting to wait for the next cycle, I started to run across.

Here’s the thing, I haven’t run in a very long time it turns out and in the last year I’ve lost around 50 lbs. So the last time I ran, there was a lot more of me to propel and that’s what I was used to working with, which means I pushed off with quite a bit more force than my current body needs. I ended up bounding across the street, bouncing like a goofy cartoon and once I had started I couldn’t compensate. I ended up cracking up before I reached the sidewalk imagining what I looked like.

So this doodle is how I felt bouncing, with high knees, across The Alameda 😂 .
